Boost for Doorway from HPH

A Chippenham based charity has been welcomed to its new offices with a donation from landlord HPH Commercial Property.

Doorway, a local charity supporting homeless people in the north Wiltshire area, has moved to offices owned by HPH at Station Hill House near the town centre.

The charity provides a range of services for homeless people including hot meals, showers, laundry facilities and one-to-one support from trained staff. Since being formed in 2004 Doorway has helped hundreds of people across the region in a variety of ways, and the new office will serve as the charity’s administration office.

HPH Commercial Property was established in Wiltshire in 1957 and is a landlord to a wide variety of businesses across the South West. It has recently undertaken a refurbishment of Station Hill House which is also home to several other Chippenham based businesses including Huw Thomas Commercial which acted as the agent for HPH to secure the deal with Doorway.

To welcome the charity to its new offices, HPH has made a financial contribution to Doorway.

Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director of HPH Commercial Property said, “As a local charity it was important for Doorway to establish itself in an accessible location, and I’m pleased to say that Station Hill House is a perfect fit for their requirements.

“The charity does some excellent work in Wiltshire, offering many valuable services to those in need. We’re pleased not only to help them to find new offices, but also to make a donation to assist them with their fantastic work supporting the region’s homeless people.”

Lisa Lewis, Chief Executive of Doorway said, “Doorway recently had to find a new office at very short notice and we were delighted that not only did Huw Thomas Commercial support us with that search, but our new landlords, HPH Commercial Property, contributed towards the rental costs with a significant financial donation.“

“As a very small charity with no statutory or sustainable funding we rely on the goodwill of the local community for financial donations in order to continue the provision of a very successful service for those who are most marginalised. The Doorway office no longer has to operate from a very cold, converted garage in an empty property!”
