Europe’s leading online art and antiques marketplace moves into key central Bath location

Auctionet, Europe’s leading online marketplace for art, furniture and antiques, is opening new offices at Kingsmead Square in central Bath. The move provides the business with modern offices in a prime city-centre location, with excellent access to rail links and proximity to some of Bath’s best hotels, making life easy for international visitors.

The new offices at 11a Kingsmead Square, owned and operated by Bath property company HPH, offer a high-quality contemporary workspace within an impressive historic building. For Auctionet, whose parent company is based in Sweden, the location was an equally important factor. Surrounded by Bath’s cafés, restaurants and shops, and a short walk from Bath Spa railway station, the building is an ideal base for welcoming overseas colleagues and clients.

“Kingsmead Square is both a great business location and a buzzing central part of Bath,” says Andy Sagar, Managing Director of Auctionet’s UK operations. “It’s an inspiring and energising place to be but also has many practical benefits. It’s really convenient when we host visitors from Sweden, as they can stay close by and enjoy all the attractions the city has to offer.”

Auctionet are already an existing HPH tenant, occupying an industrial unit on Woodland Industrial Estate in Westbury, and are now further cementing their relationship with the property company.

“Auctionet are a pioneering success story and have ambitious plans to further grow UK business,” says Katie Holdoway, HPH’s Executive Director. “Their website lists around 40,000 items at any time and they are used by most of Europe’s leading auction houses – in fact the company owns and runs the oldest auction house in the world, Stockholms Auktionsverk. We are delighted to continue our relationship with them by providing them with this high-quality modern office space in such an enviable location.”
