Westbury businesses benefit from high-speed Full Fibre broadband at Woodland Industrial Estate

Businesses at the Woodland Industrial Estate in Westbury can now enjoy access to faster and more reliable internet connectivity, following an upgrade to Full Fibre broadband by site owner HPH Ltd working with Openreach.

The installation of Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) by Openreach now provides a fibre connection directly to the estate – a major upgrade that delivers the speed and reliability required by modern businesses. Full Fibre technology uses fibre optic cables for a faster, more resilient connection capable of supporting the growing digital demands of today’s workplaces.

Previously, businesses at Woodland Industrial Estate relied on copper-based broadband connections, and the local street cabinet had been operating at full capacity for several years. This limited occupiers’ ability to upgrade their connectivity or switch providers using the existing infrastructure.

Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director at HPH, said: “Providing fast, reliable connectivity is increasingly important for businesses of all sizes. This upgrade will deliver real benefits for companies operating on the estate, supporting cloud-based working, large data transfers, video conferencing and other bandwidth-intensive activities that are increasingly essential for modern businesses.”

The investment represents an important step in supporting the long-term success of the industrial estate, improving digital infrastructure for existing tenants while attracting new prospective occupiers to the area.

Cllr Helen Belcher, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “This is a very positive step, not just for Woodland Industrial Estate but for the wider Westbury area. High-quality digital infrastructure is essential for modern businesses, supporting growth, improving productivity and helping companies to compete and expand. This investment will make the area more attractive to new businesses, while also supporting those already based here to thrive and create local jobs and opportunities.”

Martin Williams, Openreach Partnership Director for Wales and the South West, said: “Full Fibre gives businesses the speed and reliability needed to keep pace with modern digital demands. By upgrading their connectivity, companies can work more efficiently, grow with confidence and make sure their infrastructure is ready for the future.”
